IMC partners with Town Hall Los Angeles for emergency preparedness conference

December 28, 2006
IMC is partnering with Town Hall Los Angeles for a one-day emergency preparedness conference for leaders in business and government. Participating in a session titled “Tales from the Trenches," IMC’s Vice President of Policy and Planning, Stephen Tomlin, will discuss lessons learned from 22 years responding to crises worldwide.

Since the attacks of 9/11 and the devastation left by Hurricanes Katrina and Rita, there has been an increased need to recognize the human and economic consequences of inadequate emergency preparedness. This program will offer an in depth, practical primer for disaster preparedness. It will examine critical issues for effective emergency response and look at both public and private solutions.

The conference will be held on January 18, 2007 at the Beverly Hills Hotel. There will be two keynote addresses and four high-level panels on issues related to emergency preparedness, the government’s response and responsibilities, operational homeland security and funding challenges. Other participants include the assistant director in charge of the FBI, and Los Angeles County Sheriff Lee Baca.

The event is open to the public. For more information or to register visit http://www.townhall-la.org/.
